Appraisal Skills - 1 day

How well do you think your staff are performing? Better still, how well does your staff think they are performing? These issues are usually addressed ineffectively on-the-job between a staff member and his/her manager.
 
In this environment the staff member and manager are able to review and discuss past performance and plan for the future. Appraisals will identify improvement and personal development opportunities to benefit the individual and the manager. It’s all about getting the most out of people and their skills.

This event is aimed at supervisors and managers who wish to develop their skills in enabling an appraisal process. 

Course Objectives

By the end of this training programme delegates will be able to:

  • Set work objectives which are Specific, Measurable, Agreed, Realistic and Time related
    Discuss and resolve issues and concerns about the appraisal process
  • Practise the skills of observing behaviour, giving feedback and discussing performance
  • Understand the business impact of the appraiser acting effectively in the staff development process
  • Share ideas about creative ways of developing people
